Catherine Bent has been teaching cello, piano, and improvisation for over fifteen years in New York City and Boston. She really loves to see a new skill or concept light up the eyes of her students.

Catherine is on the faculty of Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she teaches Ear Training and Cello. Among other appointments, for six years she was the highly successful director of Strings and the Orchestra at Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School in Manhattan. Catherine also teaches adults and children in her studio in Jamaica Plain, MA and in New York City.

In addition to individual lessons and group ensemble coaching, Catherine also runs clinics for beginning and advanced students who are interested in learning how to improvise, or to further their improvisational skills.
